Pocket filters
Bag filters, or pocket filters, are used as final filter in HVAC applications and pre-filter in industrial, commercial and residential applications to improve indoor air quality. It is also used as a pre-filter to protect HEPA / EPA / T class filters of turbomachinery installations.
The filters in the supply air are used as first and second filter stages, either as complete filtration solutions for these applications or as prefilters for cleanroom process applications. The pocket filters are also used in the exhaust air or in recirculation systems to protect the air handling units. Pocket / Bag filters have a significantly higher dust holding capacity and longer lifetimes than other filters.
Pocket filters can be used to remove both larger / coarse dust particles and fine particles and are even effective as pre-filters for clean room filtration systems. Pocket filter frames are generally made of plastic or galvanized steel and are 25 mm in thickness. The filtration medium may be synthetic fiber/glass fiber.
Pockets are extremely durable and will perform in a flawless way over a long period of time. The depth-loading filter media is manufactured in a progressive density multi-layering technique to ensure high dust holding capacity with the lowest pressure drop. Pocket filters with reversed filter media and hydrophobic finish offer excellent coalescing properties with a "front of filter" drainage effect. Therefore, they are ideally suited for applications where filters are exposed to constant water spray or fogging.
Pocket filters are typified by small size, variety of surface type, and wide choice of model. Thanks to their structure and incorporated filter media, they have a high dust retention capacity. One of their most important features is the number of pockets, which generally ranges between 5 and 10. The filtration surface grows with the number of pockets and may even exceed 8 m².
In the standard-sized pocket filters commonly used in industry, the pockets are stitched or welded to provide spacing. Besides the usual sizes, filters may also be produced and purchased in customized sizes.
Typically G4-M5 pre filter used in :
- General air-conditioning applications
- Ventilating machine rooms and production areas
- Exhaust and recirculating air filtration in paint lines
- Prefilters for fine and micro-filters in industrial processes e.g. metal processing, chemicals, pharmaceuticals etc.
- In ventilation and air conditioning technology, in paint lines /paint spray booths and for gas turbines and compressors.
Typically M6 and Above filtration grade filters used in :
- For supply, exhaust and recirculating air filtration in all kinds of ventilation systems.
- In industrial processes (metal processing, paper production, food and beverages, etc.
- For exhaust and recirculating air filtration
